D. Ian Wilson came to the land surveying profession in 1988 after a short career as a research chemist. His career began in North County San Diego and has spanned the length and breadth of the California and both private and public sectors. Mr. Wilson has specialized in boundary, topographic, and forensic surveys.
Mr. Wilson has been a member of the California Land Surveyors Association since 1988 and has served as President of the Fresno and Riverside/San Bernardino chapters. Now a member of the Sacramento chapter, he serves as its Professional Practice Committee Vice-Chair and Corresponding Secretary. Mr. Wilson is also licensed to practice land surveying in Nevada. In his free time, he is an avid SCUBA Diver and has worked aboard dive boats as a Certified Dive Master.
A firm believer in lifelong learning, Mr. Wilson believes in continuing to learn in order to improve practice, abilities, and professionalism as a Land Surveyor. He comes to LSACTS to work toward improving the profession and helping to raise the bar for fellow land surveyors and their perception among the community and legal and design professionals.
